Please be aware that this easy summer drive can
be treacherous in winter, and that previous experience of driving
mountain roads in snow and ice is recommended.
All vehicles traveling to the area in winter must be fully winterized
- winter or good-condition all-season tyres, winter windscreen fluid,
chains* in the trunk, etc.
Driving a four-wheel, all-wheel-drive, or a sports-utility vehicle,
does not guarantee that you'll stay on the road. Remember that you're
on vacation - take the time to enjoy the scenery!
* Not all chains fit all wheels - make sure that your vehicle has
the correct size chains before heading out. Also, be sure you know
how to install chains before you hit the road because putting chains
on can be tricky, especially when your fingers are cold and its
dark out! Take the time to practice before departing - the staff
at car rental outlets will be pleased to assist if you need help. |
